Ergonomics Study

Ergonomics is the science of designing workplaces and tasks to fit the worker, aiming to improve safety, comfort, and efficiency.

Types of Ergonomics Studies:

1. RULA Ergonomics Study (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment)
  • Evaluates postural strain on the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and trunk.
  • Assigns a numerical risk score based on body position to identify ergonomic hazards.
  • Commonly used in assembly lines, office workstations, and repetitive manual tasks.
2. REBA Ergonomics Study (Rapid Entire Body Assessment)
  • Analyzes the strain on multiple body regions, including the neck, trunk, legs, arms, and wrists.
  • Generates an overall risk score to determine the severity of ergonomic risks.
  • Used for evaluating lifting tasks, warehouse work, and physically demanding jobs.
