VITT (Vacuum Insulated Transfer Tube) Installation
-
How It Works
Vacuum Insulated Transfer Tubes (VITT) are specialized piping systems designed to transport cryogenic liquids—such as liquid nitrogen, oxygen, argon, or LNG—while minimizing heat ingress. These double-walled tubes have an inner pipe for the cryogenic flow and an outer pipe that creates a vacuum jacket with multi-layer insulation in between. During installation, VITTs are precisely aligned, welded or joined with vacuum-jacketed couplings, and tested to ensure vacuum integrity and thermal efficiency. This setup allows safe, low-loss cryogenic transfer over long distances.

Construction Material
- Inner Tube: Made from high-grade stainless steel (SS304/SS316) for cryogenic compatibility and corrosion resistance
- Outer Jacket:Typicallystainless steel or carbon steel, vacuum-sealed to house insulation
- Insulation Layer:Multi-layer insulation (MLI) within the vacuum space, providing superior thermal resistance
- Connections: Precision-engineered vacuum-insulated bayonet or welded joints for leak-proof performance
