Silane (SiH₄) is a colorless, flammable, and toxic gas made of silicon and hydrogen.

Uses:

  • Industrial adhesives, sealants, and coatings.
  • Water repellents for concrete and masonry.
  • Precursor to elemental silicon.

Properties:

  • Highly flammable; ignites easily in air.
  • Toxic and corrosive; requires specialized handling equipment.
