Pickling Procedures

Pickling is a process used for food preservation by immersing items in an acidic solution, typically vinegar or brine, to inhibit bacterial growth and extend shelf life.

Types of Pickling:

  • Quick Pickles: Vegetables are directly immersed in a vinegar solution without fermentation.
  • Fermented Pickles: Lactic acid bacteria naturally develop during fermentation, enhancing flavor and texture.
